Stephen Risinger

GBRT Conservation and Stewardship Manager

Email: srisinger@grctx.org

As Conservation and Stewardship Manager for Guadalupe River Conservancy, Stephen Risinger is responsible for managing the stewardship of our portfolio of conservation easement and fee title interests in property. Stephen has an environmental stewardship background with previous experience as the Watershed Coordinator for the Plum Creek Watershed. While there, Stephen assisted stakeholders with developing successful watershed protection plans by coordinating educational programs and events and increasing the implementation of agricultural and urban BMPs with the goal of restoring and protecting water quality in creeks.

Before becoming a watershed coordinator in 2018, Stephen spent nearly a decade working as an Intelligence Mission Supervisor for various classified programs in the United States Air Force. Stephen knows the true driver of operational programs is the support of dedicated individuals and networks. How well you connect with the community you are assisting and communicate your understanding back to them determines the program’s success. In addition to his extensive networking and management abilities, Stephen possesses his certification in water policy.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Resource Management from Texas State University, and is also in the process of obtaining his Masters in Environmental Development from Texas A&M University.
